UI Design: Metering + Call To Action

Metering + Call To Action: this section is all about metering. First - decide if you will have some form of a paywall, and turn Meter On or Off. If you choose Off, there's nothing left to do here! If you choose On, then you have to decide between a Timed Meter or a Views Meter...

Let's start with Timed Based Metering

Once you choose Time, you can edit and see in real time every aspect of metering UI.
(Note: you will choose your subscription price in Distribution Dashboard, and the time allotted will be chosen on a per Issue or Feed basis within App Creator. You'll go into each uploaded Issue or Feed Content separately, choose to have the content Locked, and see all the options there.)

On the left, you'll be able to edit the text based on what screen you're on (indicated in the center top drop down menus)...

So what you're doing here is editing the text and look of what someone will see when they're pre, during and post a Time meter per issue or content. Toggle between the various combinations of text that a user might see based on what type of content you are putting a paywall in front of (Locked Content and Subscription, Locked Content Only, Subscription Only, or Unlocked), and what each will look like when at Full Time, with time Remaining, and Complete.

On the right, choose the text for Locked Content.

Now onto View Based Metering...

On the left, begin to choose the parameters of your metering. For instance:
Free Views Allowed: choose between 1-50. This is the amount of free views a user will be allowed in a certain amount of time.
Resets Every: choose from Never to 28 days. After a user goes through Free Views Allowed, they will have to wait a certain amount of time to get another batch of free articles. (Unless you choose never!)
Registration Wall: If you choose Yes, this will mean that a Registration prompt will be shown to a user at some point during their free access time.
Registration Required After: choose between 1-50, meaning a user will need to register to view anything more at this point.

Then of course, choose your background color and text color - it would be wise to keep the aesthetic the same throughout the whole app.

In the center, you will be able to view the look of your metering at different stages of the process - from Full Views, Remaining and Complete.

On the right, you can change the text associated with Full Views, Remaining and Complete and be able to see how it looks in the center.

*NOTE* ONCE YOUR APP IS LIVE, ANY CHANGES YOU MAKE HERE AND SAVE WILL AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE IN THE APP.
